Two quotations/two reasons I love teaching

Two quotations from an excellent student’s project progress report:

(I once wrote in a notebook, among a list of things to accomplish over the following year: ‘be more bohemian’. This is not a lie.)”

It’s weird that when we look at a person we see a cohesively assembled human form composed of clothes, flesh, bones, etc. when we should see spastic balls of fire/energy whose rays reach out and collide with the built/natural environment and the other balls of fire that occupy the same space (even disconnected, distant space).”
